The World Health Organization announced in 2015 that TB is the leading cause of infectious disease deaths worldwide, causing 1.5 million deaths every year – more deaths than from HIV/AIDS.

  • Georgia has the 7th highest TB case rate in the U.S.
  • In 2015 Georgia reported 322 TB cases
  • Each year 20 Georgians die from TB
