EDUCATION AND OUTREACH
Our department is committed to sharing our knowledge about mosquitoes and other vectors with the community. We do this by participating at awesome events like Earth Day, Emergency Ready Day, STEM nights, Career Days, and other community events. We also enjoy speaking at community meetings and have visited local schools to share about mosquito science with the youth in Richmond county.

If you would like to request us to speak, teach, or participate at an event, please email the Director of Mosquito and Vector Surveillance, Mindy Kruty-Crothers, at Mindy.Kruty-Crothers@dph.ga.gov with your request and information. We provide educational materials for students, camps, and other youth events as well.
· Education about mosquitoes and biting arthropods is important for citizens to be able to effectively protect themselves and their properties from large numbers of mosquitoes.
· We need your help to keep mosquito numbers low and to prevent disease in your family and the community by reducing standing water where mosquitoes can lay their eggs and by wearing personal protection to prevent mosquito bites!
