Vaccination
An updated COVID vaccine was approved in September 2023 and includes protection against more recent COVID variants. The updated COVID vaccine has been approved for ages 6 months and older. If you have not already received an updated COVID vaccine (released in mid-September, 2023), you are eligible for vaccination.
Similar to the way influenza vaccine is tweaked every year, the updated COVID vaccine may be updated to closely target the recent strains of coronavirus. COVID vaccination significantly reduces your risk of hospitalization and complications from COVID infection.
COVID vaccination is covered by many insurance plans at no cost to the patient. For individuals without health insurance coverage, a federal program may cover the cost of vaccination.
Contact your local health department to schedule an appointment for vaccination.
